Great HD tv for those on a budgetby suspectdevice - August 28, 2005
Pros: Good budget hdtv
Cons: No built in tuner, crt projection old technology
Review: I picked this up at a local retailer for several hundred dollars below 1000.00, it has a great picture, even with an analog signal, and the 480p progressive scan with my dvd player is a great picture as well. The only downfalls of this tv are that is has no atsc tuner, and the tech is rather old, so burn in and size is an issue. Highly reccomended for those looking to get an hdtv at an affordable price.

TV 's stinks hardby coolted - May 10, 2005
Pros: None -appearancve
Cons: dead with convergence problem in 2.5 years
Review: TV were sold to me defective from the factory. I bought 2 42 inch Mitsubishi's and both were dead with convergence problems within 48 hours of each other. There Customer service dept. is a joke and the authorized repair rep that was provided picked up one set on April 12 and returned it on May 19-2005, . VP at Mit, insists that this is not unusual and denies my request for Mitsubishi to replace the TV's. I will never purchase from Mitubishi again, I also bought another 42 inch and gave it away as a Xmas gift, $thousands in initial cost and they will not stand behind their product, BEWARE!

Goes dead in 2 weeksby HouHou - April 10, 2005
Pros: Good picture, Good price
Cons: Breaks down after a couple weeks
Review: So I have been looking for an HDTV for over 2 years and finally one day I saw an ad from Goodguys that they have this TV for 999, so I immediately jumped on it and ordered one. It arrived a couple days later and since I haven't watched a lot of HD, I thought the picture quality was pretty good. A friiend of mine who is an HDTV freak told me that the picture doesn't look very sharp and needs calibration. I bought the protection plan from GG and calibration comes with it, so I called in for calibration and they said they don't do it since it hasn't been more than 30 days; I called GG and they said they will replace it. And it sure looked better when I got the new one and I was happy with it until I noticed some horizontal lines that were moving across the screen several at a time. I was soooo pissed, so I called again and had it replaced, but the new TV was the same, so I moved the TV around (from North South position to East West position) and the lines disappeared, so I guess it was some external element affecting it (oops). So I kept the TV and I was happy with it and one night we were watching TV and it suddenly shut down!! I turned it back on and the screen is all red and after a couple seconds it shuts down. I call GG and the store manager says they can't change it for me anymore and I am like whaaaat? so anyway, he said it is the last time and blah blah blah. I get a new TV, looks good and everything until today and it BREAKS!!! the same exact way with the difference that this time the screen is all green. So I call in and they try to make me keep it and stuff and I am like no no, there is a 30 day money back guarantee (it starts all over again when you replace the product!), so I am back to square one looking for a new TV. It seems this model is deffective; don't quote me on it cuz I don't wanna get sued my Mitsubishi but there is something seriously wrong with this model. It can't be my bad luck!

A nice set for the moneyby born2run1 - March 18, 2005
Pros: Size, direct viewing, low price
Cons: Cheap case, ENORMOUS remote, side angle viewing
Review: I needed an HDTV compatible set with a 42" screen and a sub 40" cabinet width. This TV fit the dimensional bill, and was very inexpensive ($997). The picture is sharp mostly, but dark scenes on DVDs appear too dark. There are many adjustments, and perhaps I can find the right balance. The different viewing formats are difficult to get used to, but I think that problem will resolve in 2006 when TV goes digital (I hope).

Great TV for price and qualityby - January 23, 2005
Pros: Nice sharp picture, low price, great for DVD viewing and HD programming, clean conversion of non-hd 4:3 to widescreen 16:9, plenty of inputs for up to 4 different devices as well as a DVI and 2 additional hd antennas
Cons: When viewing in Stretch view the picture takes a bubble effect in which the sides appear enlarged compared to the center of the image. This set also requires a HD receiver to view HD content
