Pros Upgraded cables and components - Picture Great
Cons Older components and cheap cables - Picture Sub Par
Summary I recently bought a Samsung 61 inch DLP TV. After much research and looking at numerous TV's (lcd wega, plasma etc..) - this seemed to be best bang for the buck.
I liked the fact that it has a DVI, HDMI and VGA connection, but quickly found out that the complaints of regular TV viewing being poor picture quality was true. DVD players without good cables connecting using component or higher connection were also poor.
HOWEVER, I did find a product that drastically corrected this!!!
I found a site that sold an XGA converter ( http://www.gocybershopping.com/customer/product.php?productid=1223&cat=0&page=1 ). This can take in an s-video cable or RCA (that most dvd players and satellite or cable boxes have) and converts and outputs to the VGA input of the TV. Once I setup the TV a bit, regular TV channels, and my older DVD player were dialed in - with a very good picture! The only drawback is the VGA setting on the TV is a bit smaller than the entire screen - but not a big deal, as the quality of the picture makes up for it, and I'm utilizing at least 55" or more of the TV screen.
I was ready to have this TV picked up and returned, but this product really came through.
I definitely recommend it, it's worth it's weight in gold (unless you want to go blind).

Pros Excellent picture with High Def content. Vivid colors, crystal clear, sharp images, as close to real life as you'll find. HMDI, DVI, PC inputs as well as multiple Component video, composite video and S-video inputs. very good, not great sound - use yo
Cons Remote is OK, use another universal remote if you can for the basics. The instruction manual may as well be written in Korean! It gets you through the basics, but it explains NOTHING. It takes a few clicks to navigate through some of the on screen menu
Pros Zero screen door effect, rainbow not a problem, X-BOX looks great!
Cons None as of yet unless you call having to tweak colors to your preference.
Summary I bought this TV for one reason only to put upstairs in my "play room". I have one thing hooked up to it, my X-BOX. Picture is perfect!!!!! Nuff said.
Pros Great picture even from very far side angles. Bright picture looks great in my bright living room which has two large picture windows. Love the ability to plug my PC into it and use it as a large computer monitor.
Cons Remote control could use more functions, giving it the ability to control other units, (ie: VCR, DVD, etc.) Annoying beebing when TV comes on and gets turned off, until I discovered you could disable this in setup. Should not have been set up as default.
Pros Outstanding picture quality, though not markedly different from HLN series; HDMI input reduces cable clutter
Cons I had trouble initially because my DVDs were playing with the wrong aspect ratio, despite playing with the TV's settings. It turns out the DVD player was set to 4:3 instead of 16:9. Once that was fixed, the set was fantastic.
