"Shines with a really good signal"
Pros: Size, Value. HDTV tuner
Cons: Weak signals look...weak.
Summary: I got this because it fit the built-in TV alcove of my living room. The Samsung has the biggest screen dimensions in a compact exterior footprint.
It is a very good performer if it is fed a good signal. HDTV can look great, especially Late Nite with David Letterman (shot in High Def). Standard TV looks only fair.
DVD is not as sharp as I thought it would be, but it's NOT bad. My thanks to Mike at CNet staff for pushing me toward flat screen. I don't regret this purchase.Updated
actually, it was DAVID KATZMAIER who took the time to give me advice. Over-the-air HD looks stellar. Very satisfied now that I've lived with this for a while.
The HDTV WORLD section would have been PERFECT in resolving my dimension constraints. Too bad I did it the hard way, which is typical.
