"Great TV for price and quality - small downsides"
Pros: Great picture, built in HD, good price
Cons: Gaming lag, some controls difficult, rainbows
Summary: I got this TV about 2 weeks ago and out of the box was very impressed with the picture quality. Hooked up an ordinary antenna and was able to pull in all my local stations in HD with excellent picture. Later that night I watched The Incredibles and was amazed how good it looked (without any calibrating). I did start to notice some rainbows, and over time they became more and more distracting (this is only a problem for some people). By far my biggest complaint is that there is a delay while I'm playing my xbox games. On metered games such as NCAA and MLB there is close to a .25 second delay which makes pitching very very difficult. I will be returning the TV for this reason and the rainbows. Otherwise, if I didn't play videogames and the rainbows didn't effect me this would be an excellent buy.

It would be nice to know what the two commenters disagree with, it seems they think the rainbow effect didn't bother them. YMMV. I saw the 1080p Samsungs in BestBuy and was underwhelmed with clarity, 3D likeness, and color (very blue in store) but suppose they could look good once calibrated. Would hope same holds true for the 720p models like this one. But I saw no rainbow effect.

I have an Xbox 360 and this set has absolutely no lag. Rainbow effects? I can see something when I quickly move my eyes left to right (I'm talking quicker then you would EVER do normally. Just to see if I could catch a rainbow.) And word of advice, if you are considering the 42-inch model, that one has the worst screen of them all. Very splotchy and fuzzy. Cnet warned about this, but I didn't think it was going to be that bad. Makes the whites look dirty and robs the screen of it's clarity. Go for the bigger ones, you wont be sorry!

I have the same TV, I play nothing but Video games on it and have no problem with this delay. I am using the component video inputs on my xbox with the highdef adapter and no issues. Try switching to the highdef adapter for the console you are using and I guarantee you will not have this issue. Also did notice a decrease in the rainbow effect with this model. (father in-law has older 46" model.)
