"Big, Light, Easy to Hook up, Easy to Use, Great Picture"
Pros: Digital Turner, CableCard,Super Picture with HDTV and SDTV and analog, Light, Connections, 1080P, Smooth action Video, Good Remote, Works well with other Remotes, 1394 Inputs, Monitor Video Out, Sound
Cons: NO SD card Slot, Pricey over 720p. No S-Video Out, No Picture Shrink, Just 1 PIP. Just 2 Component Inputs
Summary: I really like the Picture, its great in Movie Mode. The smoothness is really good with a good video signal. Not too bad with a bad video input picture. HDTV on broadcast channels is great, I have Cable and Ant. Connected. again, Its great. You can fine tune Analog Channels to get more of the noice out. Channel Setup takes little time and over all Setup was was easy. You can name your inputs, Lots of Inputs. The only thing is I wish it had one more Component inputs and an SD card Slot. There are not many Digital Output Devices just yet. Fan is very quiet. Audio for a TV is great and easy to hear with the bottom speakers. The size is great. 18 inches with the TV and Clearance (4 inches) from the Wall. I wish there was a S-Video Output. The composite is okay, but if you want to record off the digital Tuner, its good enough for now. The digital Audio out works great with my Reciever, which is does not switch the video signals any more.
With the 1080P, you should be good for the Future products and broadcasts. I have not noticed any flicker problems. The analog channels are pretty clear from cable. And the digital Channels are great for Football, Racing, Nature, Even watching really bad TV programs is great. But Something like CSI or PBS shows take on new entertainment value. I used a regular Ant. to get the Ant broadcast channels. There is even 2 digtial Spanish Channels. I would give the TV a 10. But.
Wish I could shrink the picture downsometimes to elimate the pixels that are on poor quality video, I wish I could have more than one PIP. Its 50 inches, so you could watch 3 things at once. I wish I had more set of Component inptus, the digital inputs seem to be good for the future. I have a DVD, a DVD HDD recorder, so if I get another item, it will hopefully have the digital connectoer on it. The big thing that I forgot about after looking at so many TVs, is the SD card slot. This would be a great photo shower if it had that. Perhaps with with the 1394 inputs. I wish it had S video output instead of the composite. If you price it with the 720ps, you are paying more. I could not really tell the difference based on the Digital Satellite Picture at the Store. I also wish the remote was lighted. Had the ability to control 2 DVDs (Just 1 now) and be able to Control a Stereo/Receiver Volume in TV mode.Updated
HDTV viewing is great with a good source.
Some of the US open was great with the good pictures, but somewhat hard to watch if its a bad input, Cartons seem to be immune from this. PBS digital channels (Over the Air on and on Cable) are really great. Return of the King is very impressive on the set. Some Pixel problems with the fades in and out. Some adjustments need to be made now and then to certain programs that have darker or dominate color schemes. But its easy enough to do. Recording from HDTV program to HDD recorder works.Updated
According to the local Box Store Reps, this is the only TV that works well with the Digtial Cable Ready signals from the Cable Company. They surprised when I told them that I could get the digital cable signals without a box. I was looking for another DCR tv, and was told that did not work that well (At least in the Raleigh Area). But it works great for this TV.Updated

Using a Composite Video Cable with Sound, I hooked up my Canon and the pictures and Video were excellent.Updated
If you want to see what the best picture is: You need to hook up a widescreen computer (this case a MAC Pro) and see pictures and Trailers. The Pictures take a on new qaulity at 50 inches. You see detail that you do not see in a Print or on a computer screen. The Quicktime movie trailers in 1080p are the future of what is coming. If you compare a DVD or even a broadcast image to the computer 1080p. You see the difference. Not that the old things are bad. I am not going out an buying movies in HD, and getting rid of my DVDs like people did with Records and tapes. But I think that I might watch a downloaded movie on my computer through my DLP when its raining out and not going to the movies. I would pay $10, to stay at home and not get a baby sitter, sit in my own chair, eat my own food. Hit the pause button when I get up.
