"Beautiful Picture!"
Pros: Excellent picture quality, NO color wheel humming noise!
Cons: Image sometimes darker from angles but not an issue...probably due to positioning and glare.
Summary: Bought this new DLP set after much research and price shopping. Purchased from Nice Electronics out of NY. Good company, BBB member (that gave me some piece of mind). Spent $3,100 but that included: Shipping, full extended 3 year IN HOME warranty (on top of manufaturers 1 year warranty) with bulb replacement, no deductible. The in home warranty is a big deal because shipping costs and the hassles of sending your TV out is huge. If they have to come to your home more than twice for the same issue they give you a brand new replacement set. It wasn't cheap for this warranty ($699) but it's worth the piece of mind I'll have for the next four years.
Anyway, back to the TV. Love the size and the picture. Sound is ok but we are in the process of completing our home theater install so this is a non-factor.
We had a 56" DLP from Vizio previously. Bought it at Costco. The picture on that one was beautiful as well but the color wheel sound was very audible. We took it back for that and other reasons. But this Samsung model you can't hear any sound except for what you are supposed to hear. That's a huge selling point for us. If you heard the color wheel hum on other sets you would understand what I am saying.
