"outstanding tv best one in this price range"
Pros: sharp bright colors. Built in hd reciver is the best in it's class
Cons: blacks could be a little sharper but im still tweeking the colors
Summary: Great tv. The dlp's are so light compared to my old big screen. One thing I have noticed is that the hd reciver changes channels twice as fast if not more than my friends hd tv's. You don't have to wait as long for the new channel to come up, it's there in 2 secounds. Regular cable tv looks great but the local hd stations i pick up with a cheep best buy antenna look amazing. I find my self watching jay leno because it just looks so real, and I don't even like jay. I have never seen any rainbow effect with this tv or anything else that effects viewing or the picture. Some people are complaining about a black grass effect when the tv is showing a solid black picture but I never notice it and it dosen't effect viewing. Some people are never happy I guess.

I'm glad to see that this tv has a good review because it's available now at a great price! Circuit city is advertising it at $999. Best Buy is advertising it at $1399 but will beat competitors by 10%, so you get it at about $960! It should be a great tv, but at under a thousand dollars for a 42" HDTV from Samsung with two HDMI is a great deal right now. For reference, I'm writing less than a week before Turkey Day, 2006

I'm looking at the Samsung DLP and the Sony rear projection. I'm concerned about the rainbow effect, but also have a budget. Plasma is still too high. What other hds did you look at? Thanks.
