"TV smiley = Owner frown"
Pros: Absolutely gorgeous picture
Cons: Do you like staight lines?
Summary: Alright, I've spent the last week trying to get a Samsung that I'm satisfied with to no avail. If you are considering buying this TV ( or any of the Samsung DLP's), DO YOUR RESEARCH!! I found out the hard way by going through 2 brand-new, separate TVs. This unit is a VERY poor design. The frame holding the screen in place is very weak and will cause the screen to distort. This in turn causes the picture displayed on the screen to distort also. The end result is that you will notice bowing when watching content with straight lines (like your cable or DTV guide, news/sports tickers, etc.) You will not notice this misalignment when watching regular motion video, but if you have any straight edges from say a PC or video game console, you will see this problem clearly. IMO, this is totally unacceptable and I am in disbelief that a TV manufacturer would try to sell this product, especially given the $1500-$2000 price tag. Luckily, I am still within my 30-day return policy, so I have decided to dump Samsung in favor of the Sony KDS-55A3000. Please, please, please read all the reviews you can find, go look in the store, and do whatever it takes to make an informed decision regarding this TV. This problem has nothing to do with HD or SD or you video signal or anything except for a flawed TV design. I even went to the store where I purchased and showed the sales folks and managers the problem on ALL of the Samsung DLPs the had on display. EACH ONE had varying degrees of bow. The store employees were surprised, to say the least, and even one manager said that she couldn't believe that they were selling these things now. She said she loved the Samsungs, but after seeing this, there's no way she would EVER buy one. (I think she was more upset about it than me!) The only reason that this TV gets a 2 from me is because of the outstanding picture quality...but I determine quality based on all aspects of performance, and Samsung has laid a HUGE goose egg with this model...perfect color representation with a WARPED SCREEN!! LOL!!!...And they are the official HDTV for the NFL?!?!?! You may get lucky and receive one that does not exhibit this anomaly, but are you going to bet your $1500-$2000 on some luck? Remember, I got 2 BRAND-NEW, never-opened models, and both showed significant screen warp. Also, many consumer reviews describe other problems with this TV hat could be considered even more significant than screen bow! DO YOUR RESEARCH!!!

I find your opinion helpful. I just bought one and it's still under warranty, and now I'm questioning my TV. However, I must disagree - have no bowing at all, unless I lean on top of it. This makes sense - it's a light frame (which is an INTENDED design - lighter = better) and when bent would obviously distort a projected image. This is no design flaw. Were you placing something on top of the TV? I have a receiver on top of my TV and there's nothing wrong with it.
