    "Excellent choice for big screen"

    on January 12, 2005

Pros: Fantastic pictures even in non-high definition. Excellent color and sound. This set is almost as good as plasma, with none of the plasma drawbacks.

Cons: No real problems, but as with any projection tv of this type, contrast can be an issue.

Pros: Looked great for the few minutes that it did come in. Tech assistance from Samsung was very good.Said had bad memory chip.

Cons: Was told that it had a bad memory chip which was reason for no picture and that this model is last years. Not told that by store Rex TV. Called them they salesman said he didn't know there was a new model.New model is HLP5063W

"Fantastic Set (If you know what you're doing)"

    on January 30, 2004

Pros: HDTV through DVI is absolutely amazing. It blows DVD away. Plenty of inputs. No motion blur like on LCD's. Super bright, best black levels next to CRT's. Super light. I easily placed it on my stand without assistance. There are really no words to

Cons: Ships with horribly configured color settings which results in a terrible green tint when watching DVD's. Thankfully it is easily corrected by entering the service menu and adjusting the RGB settings under DNIe (All). -Some widescreen DVD's don't fill t

    "High Maintanence"

    on January 12, 2005

Pros: This unit provides a good sharp picture but you must have HDTV and DVD movies. The picture is blurred and dull in analog viewing.

Cons: I have had this unit for 1-1/2 years and have had nothing but problems. The bulb wears out and needs replacing often and at $300 ea. its very expensive to maintain. Also the optical engine has failed resulting in a $2000 price tag. Word to the wise, if y
