"Not happy with this tv"
1.5 starson by optifluidPros: great hdtv picture
Cons: sound level, remote operation
Summary: Have had this TV since Xmas. Just can't get used to the poor remote control response and uneven audio levels. Remote has to be pointed directly at the tv and in a level plane to the ir sensor for it to work. Every other tv I've owned, you could fire the remote anywhere in the room and it activated. Also, the audio on this tv always seems to be too loud or too soft. There seems to be a huge step in the audio level each time you increase or decrease the volume. I don't know if these are problems with this set only or manufacturing design. Anyone else find these problems?

I haven't had the problems you describe. On the other hand, the only tv's that I've owned over the last 20 years have been Sony's, so I may simply be used to the remote control and don't notice any problem. With my 42WE655 set, the remote will function properly without having to point it directly at the IR sensor. My remote works even when pointed to either side of the set and/or above or below the set. As for the sound levels, the only thing I notice is that there can be a difference in loudness when going from one channel to another...but that's not the tv's fault. When adjusting the volume level, I don't hold down the button (up or down) to achieve the volume I want, but rather depress and release the button quickly to achieve the desired level. Sorry that you're having a problem with this excellent tv.
