"Many of these reviews are misleading" on
Pros: 1) You can definitely use this TV for Media PC hookup. You have to get a top-of-the-line NVIDIA or ATI card (I have the NVIDIA 6800 GT) with the "right" DVI output. Hook it up, then use the service mode feature to correct for underscan, and voila: PC on y
Cons: 1) Avoid the S-video and composite hookups. These signals don't look great on this TV. 2) Component looks OK, but... 3) DVI is definitely best. Too bad this set has only one DVI port! Needs 3 or 4! And needs an HDMI port too. 4) Needs digital audio in. 5)

"Well thought out design, elegant lines @ SET UP RIGHT IT'S THE best of the best !" on by jetfuel
Pros: Nothing superficial about this one, vivid colors, natural picture.
Cons: Pricy-comes with less than basic wires.
Summary: I carefully selected the SONY 70" XBR because I understand the difference between Quality and Initial Quality! Make no mistake, there are many less costly units to choose from that seem to offer good initial quality and attractive value but keep in mind- something that is inexpensive to build is inexpensive to buy. This is a video investment that will live in my home for many many years to come. With that in mind I had to go with the one that will hold it's undeminishing performance, and proven reliability!

"Best TV I've Ever Seen!" on
Pros: Worked perfectly - no additional calibration needed beyond THX Optimizer - right out of the box! Wonderful HD picture, works great with DVI input from Samsung DVD! Just an amazing HD picture to ANYONE who sees it.
Cons: I see all the comments about price - I did a side by side comparison to plasma and this TV is just as good and clearly is less expensive at 60 inches. I also compared to Samsung DLP at 60 inches and I like the Sony picture better - even though slightly m

"Great Picture High Def or Std Def." on
Pros: Has a great picture in both HD and SD especially for a 60" screen. Recommended viewing distance as close as 2.2 m (approx. 7 ft.) and within 60 degrees of the verticle viewing area and 130 degrees of the horizontal viewing area. We sit at between 12 ft to
Cons: KDF-60XBR950 is a little pricey

"Works great out of the box, not sure if you need tune up" on by olbyr
Pros: picture quality,
Cons: No headphone, size
Summary: I think this tv works great out of the box. I have been watching this set for 2 weeks and has yet to find any thing I dislike. Only inconvenience is lack of head phone for second picture in PIP mode. The size is still kind of big. ~70" form factor for a 60" screen. Also kind of heavy. The matching stand looks great but not sure if it's worth the price. I got one from Ikea for $99. Another disadvantage is the tv/video selection for HDMI is video 7 which requires 7 clicks from my reqular cable viewing to HD Satelite dish viewing.
The glass/plastic front is particular nice in the living room.
