"Excellent Picture and Price"
Pros: Best picture you can get in a 55"
Cons: 20" deep, if you care
Summary: I stumbled upon this TV at Costco when thinking I was going to purchase either a 47" Visio LCD or a 55" Mitsubishi DLP. My wife and I both thought the KDS-55A2020 was the best picture in the whole store. I went home and read up on SXRD and realized it was the best of the projection world. No DLP rainbow effect, 3 separate RGB color chips, no screen door effect, and a great price. This TV has been the most film-like television I have watched with a wider viewing angle than any projection TV I have seen.
We got our TV from Costo in September 2007 for $1699, including the matching stand. My optimized picture settings are:
Picture Mode: Custom
Advanced Iris: Auto2
Picture: Max
Brightness: 51
Color: 49
Hue: G1
Color Temp: Warm2
Sharpness: 10
Noise Reduction: Medium
Black Corrector: Off
Gamma: Low
Clear White: Off
Live Color: Off
Detail Enhancer: Off
Edge Enhancer: Off
