"Looking for a great HDTV? Look no further!" on by DRoB3445
Pros: Great...excellent picture. HD channels are phenominal. SDTV channels are as expected.
Cons: The only things that are noteworthy of mentioning include a sheen/glare that seems to be on the screen when white is the only present color on the background and a surround sound system seems logical.
Summary: A great buy, especially with all the brands on the market. The price was hundreds lower than the competitors and the quality seems to be surpassing them all. The picture is incredible. I have a PS3, with a built-in Blu-Ray player and the movies look like a window in my room that I am looking through. Overall, this is a must for anyone that is needing to upgrade their home theater because there is no other HDTV out there for this price with this quality. I paid $1999.99 at Cirtuit City and couldn't be happier. The sheen/glare I mentioned is only a moderate problem that is only noticed at random moments by a meticulous eye. This is the #1 TV out there I believe and it is sad that it hasn't been advertised much. Check it out. I promise that you will be amazed.

"Great TV, I'd buy another in a heart beat" on by caddyroyalty
Pros: Amazing picture, thin bezel, 3 hdmi inputs, very light, a 65 inch for under 2K!
Cons: A few: Bulb, input naming, volume out, marks on top of the case
Summary: I've had this TV for about 6 weeks now and I love it!!
I bought mine online and it arrived fine, packaging did a good job at protecting the TV. I hooked it up to Verizon Fios over an HDMI cable and the stock picture is amazing!
3 days in the bulb blew and I was a little mad Toshiba wouldn't let me pay for overnight delivery of the replacement bulb so I was without a TV for 6 days.
The stock speakers are fairly weak and I don't have a sound system yet so I'm using the audio out to a pair of 2.1 speakers. This is a little annoying because when I change the volume on the TV that output stays the same
I can also see the inner supports on the top of the cabinet since its a little discolored, but it doesn't affect the picture in any way.
My HD channels are gorgeous. SD signals vary depending, some look ok and others look like crap. I set my DVD player to 480P and everything looks great, along with my Wii.
One other small problem is not being able to name the inputs, I can only give them generic names like "game console" and "DVD". It'll get a little confusing when I have my Wii, PS2, Xbox360 all with the game console tag.
However at the end of the day my only real problem I have to deal with is not enough HD channels
I still love this TV -
"Best Value Available!" on by elearns
Pros: Connectivity, anti-glare screen, 1080p, slim bezel, quick startup time
Cons: Some minor pixelation (might be source), no PIP
Summary: Had a 720P Mitsubishi for a couple of years before it quit...extended warranty came through, though it took about 3 months. The Mitsu was really good, but glass screen cover reflected any light in the room as glare. The Toshiba does not. Also, the Mitsu had about a 2" wide bezel...this Toshiba has about 1/2" bezel...the 65" Toshiba actually looks smaller than the 62" Mitsubishi did. No knocks against Mitsubishi, but after the TV failed 3 times, was ready to try something else. The extended warranty (through GE) eventually just paid me about $2k to replace the TV after 3 failures of the same component.
HD is crisp, clear, and a HUGE picture. It is about 12.5 square feet of HD beauty!! Purchased the TV in late June from a big store retailer and got a package deal with a HD-DVD player...awesome picture!
I was also looking at the new 1080p Mitsubishis, and the LCD-lamp-engine Samsungs, but the Toshiba was 100's less (about $1k less then the new technology Samsungs, which only go up to 61"). There is a BIG difference between a 61"/62" and 65" TV and I have had both in my house.
Bottom line: great TV at a great price! -
"Amazing picture and price" on by JonPierre
Pros: Awesome HD video quality
Cons: Very minor, see below.
Summary: I bought one of these HDTV's about three weeks ago and am mostly very pleased with my purchase. Great price and amazing HD picture!!! I do have a couple of user questions on which I would welcome input from other owners.
I use an HMDI cable to connect my DVR/Cable decoder box to my TV. That said, here are my comments:
1. With that hookup configuration, the closed captions do not work at all. This is frustrating as I am accustomed to them popping on when the mute button is pushed. There also seem to be a lot of options as to how CC are displayed on this TV. I was anxious to see how that looked but, no go.
2. I wish it had a audio output jack with variable sound so, with the sound run into my audio system, I could control both audio signals simultaneously with the regular TV volume control. As it is - with the fixed audio output - I have to select TV on the remote to turn the volume down and next select the audio receiver and lower that volume. Kind of a hassle.
3. Maybe I am getting spoiled by the amazing picture provided by HD channels, but the non-HD network channels seem to provide a more blurry picture than my other, non-HD televisions. My wife thinks it's because the picture is so freakishly large but I doubt that. Could this be a function of the HDMI cable hookup? Any other idea? -
"Excellent HDTV! Very Clear! Can watch from an angle!" on by stazy
Pros: HD is very clear. Night Skylines look awesome!
Cons: Takes awhile to figure out the best mode setting to use for what you are watching.
Summary: We have a huge room for this tv and it is great! The picture is very clear in HD. The reasons we picked this tv for the size, value, 1080p, and that you can watch it at an angle. We were thinking about one for the wall, but the DLP had the size and the best price. Also - we don't have to worry about losing a pixel! It isn't that deep and fits on the stand very well. We have it in the corner of our room. Lightweight and easy to set up. Various mode settings for what you are watching takes awhile to figure out. I'm not very hi-tech, but I think I got it set at a good mode for everyday tv. The sports setting shows in very vivid colors. Regular (non-HD) viewing is ok. With more channels becoming HD, that should be a mute point soon. Easy side input for external hook up. We got the extended warranty so it should cover the bulb when it goes out. We did research various big screen HDTVs and went to several stores to pick one out. This was the best one for the size and value that we liked. We love it! Thumbs Up!
