"This is a highly enjoyable, faithful reproduction of the pen-and-paper game"
Pros: Pretty good graphics, nice music, ok camera, great battle system, faithful reproduction of the D&D rules set
Cons: I encountered some (acceptable) user interface issues, though they are nowhere near as bad as described in the review.
Summary: I very much enjoy this game. I rather disagree with the comments that I've read here and elsewhere on the navigation. Frankly, this is a tactics game, not a shooter. I actually think the menus are mostly well designed, and the most often used actions - move, attack, end turn - *are* immediately available in the menu, contrary to what the review claims. The out-of-game menus for e.g. trading items are indeed a bit, shall we say, uninspired, but I got used to them quickly.
Yes, the camera can be a bit tricky. However, in order to look at the terrain beyond the area immediately surrounding your character, all you need to do is move the cursor away from your caracter - the camera will stay centered on the cursor, so you *can* explore the surroundings as you move the cursor around the map. You can also zoom out in order to obtain a wider field of view.
During the game, you'll have to do quite a bit of thinking and remembering yourself. A piece of paper may actually be helpful, both for mapping as well as for keeping track of the health and status of your characters. I like that, though, since it does add to the p&p-like atmosphere that this game evokes (for me, at least).
Summary: This is a pretty convincing attempt at bringing "real" D&D to the playstation, and in no way merits the mostly negative reviews on the web.
