Summary: Why bother registering your unit when you get it? They have record I sent product reg card in. They just do not have all the info to perform warranty work with in the one year time frame. I have 2 SOLO s2 both need service and they want to charge and both were registered and they do not have the information. I just ordered BEL Cordless for a change I hear they are better units. Escort should get their records in order.

Pros: No Dangling Cord! Long battery life. No significant loss of range.
Cons: Display hard to read in daylight. No cool "scanning dot".
Summary: I replaced a Passport 8500 with this and I couldn't be happier with it. I'm sure this thing has paid for itself in the 2 years I've had it. My only complaints involve a display that's hard to read in daylight and the lack of any cool display features when it's not alarming, but that is designed to conserve battery power and if you plug it in anyway (optional), you can have a backlit display and the cool scanning dot. I'll be an Escort customer as long as they keep up this quality.

Summary: I have been searching on ebay for about a week and a half and I can tell you This is a high ticket Item. It was hard for me to understand why ebayers are paying high price for used item. Most of the used 8500 go like hot cakes on ebay auctions. I was just beat out by 7 auctions and what is strange is the used ones cost close to the NEW ones. I dedcided pay the price and go for new one. The cost for me on ebay was $239 New. I think this is a good price. So far a overall performance I will have to get back to on that one.Going on vaction to NJ to NC to FL
