"Sounds almost like the BOSE Wave Radio"5.0 starson by m6usa
Pros: Very very good sound considering the small size.
Cons: the price may be a little steep but good investment
Summary: The Sangean WR 2 is an impressive little machine. I'm very impressed with the sound and bass. It sounds almost like the BOSE Wave Radio. I placed it in my 30 x 20 feet living room and the whole room was filled with balanced and rich sound. It sounds even better than my older $300 Sony Radio System. Many of the people I invite in my house are quite surprised with the sound. They wonder if I'm using any hidden ceiling speakers or additional speakers hidden somewhere in the living room. I always tell them that the sound they are hearing is coming from the little tabletop radio. The quality is excellent. The radio housing is made of a high quality wood, painted with a very shiny black color. It comes with 2 additional colors too. The white LCD backlight has 3 settings, the highest setting backlight is very very bright even during daylight. What's even nicer is the feature called RDS (Radio Data System). It shows the Name of the Station, the Song title, and the Singer when using the FM or AM stations. It even checks for Traffic INformation and other additional information with a press of a button on the machine or the remote. It has time/alarm function plus a Radio-time sync. It works like an atomic clock except it gets the time data from the radio station. On the back panel, you can connect any audio equipment (satellite receiver,aux,mp3 players, cd, etc) plus you can record using record out jack. Headphone jack is conveniently located in front of the panel. The front panel is made of a nice aluminum. If you want a tiny high fidelity audio system with premium features, this is it. The price may be a little pricey for some people ($150)but it should not dissapoint anyone who purchases it. If you're on a budget, you can get the Sangean WR 1. It doesnt have digital tuner/LCD screen, remote, time/alarm clock feature. The WR 1 sounds exactly the same as WR 2 but for just $90. I have the WR 2 in my living room and WR 1 in my bedroom. For people wondering who competes with Sangean tabletop radio, the company competing is called Tivoli by Henry Kloss. They make Tivoli Model 1 and Model 2 radios. The model 1 is similar to Sangean. The Model 2 has an additional speaker. Both Tivolis are overpriced. My friend owns a Tivoli Model 1 and it sounded just like the Sangean. I'm very very satisified with the radio.
