iPod green, why did it have to be this way?by rakestra - November 25, 2005
Pros: click wheel is nice-good idea, the sound quality is pretty impressive, it's fast, holds lots of songs
Cons: the battery is not good, 10 to 12 hours is not gonna happen, the battery runs out really quickly, i tunes lacks some basic interface features that would make it convenient to use,
Review: after all of the hype, i have to say i'm pretty dissappointed in the ipod mini (4GB,green,...). it in no way lives up to the hype, and it makes me wish i had looked at other players. the sound quality is great, and the usability is also, but the problem is that it doesn't work. I've had the battery die on me three times in the ten months i've had it. And an additional time, the harddrive just stopped working. I've sent it back four times since i bought it. One good thing i can say is that their customer service is world class. it's really easy and free (if you're in your warranty) to return the ipod. I was only erronesouly charged for return once in the four times i had to mail it. and only one time out of the four did they return my ipod unaltered -still broken-and stil charge me for it. and you have to make an appointment to get it fixed at the store, but once you're there, it IS easy and free. I really want to like apple and i apprciate what they do for the industry, but if i had it to do over, i would probably get something besides an ipod.

Great mp3 playerby wassupwasabi3000 - October 28, 2005
Pros: great design, good sound, easyto-read screen, click wheel, ridiculously easy iTunes compatibility
Cons: questionable battery life
Review: This is a great mp3 player. It is smaal and compact, yet sturdy. The click wheel is the easiest thing to use in the world, and anyone who tells you otherwise is a hater. iTunes music downloads/transfers/cd buring is so easy that your great-grandmother could do it. Many people complain about the sound, but I think that it sounds great (although, as with most mp3 players, you should probably invest in better headphones.) It's very durable; after carrying it around, unprotected, in my pocket for the last 2 years, the only blemish is a miniscule scratch on the screen.
The only really bad thing about it is the bettery life, which the iPod mini eats through as fast as a Hummer through gasoline.

After going through 2 iPod minis, I'm giving up.by Otacon001 - July 14, 2005
Pros: Decent amount of memory, sleek and compact size/look, available in several colors
Cons: Horrible battery life, battery must be replaced by Apple themselves (higher cost), crashes often
Review: When I first began researching portable MP3 players, one name instantly popped into my head. This name was famous pretty much everywhere, with commercials and internet pop-up ads like crazy. The name: iPod.
Without doing too much research, I went out and purchased an iPod Mini. It was sleek, beautiful, and, except the crappy batter life, I really enjoyed it...that is, until a week later, when it strangely crashed. I called Apple themselves, and they couldn't even fix my problem. The only thing they could do is send me a new one, free of charge. I was skeptical about using an iPod product again, but took the offer simply because it was free.
I recieved my new iPod Mini a few weeks later. Superb! I enjoyed it again. About three months later, I noticed that battery life was plainly suffering, even when the iPod Mini wasn't in use. I couldn't believe it. The iPod Mini would also stall a lot when I first turned it on. Don't know about you, but I really don't enjoy staring at the Apple logo for about twenty seconds. <_< And of course, the Mini eventually crashed, just like the first one.
And, here I am today, writing this review as I place my iPod Mini back in its box and decide its fate. With $40 a call for Apple customer service and a serious need for music, as it is my job, I am done with the Apple iPod Mini. Heck, I'm done with the Apple iPod series unless something changes.
The bottom line: THE iPOD IS A FASHION STATEMENT, AND NOTHING ELSE. Don't do what everyone else is doing and purchase a crappy mp3 player when there are hundreds of other players with more memory, better quality, and a better price. I'd rather have a good mp3 player than look cool carrying around a crappy one.

Love the look and functionality of my iPod Miniby TechFan - May 23, 2005
Pros: Outstanding playlist options; compact design;
Cons: Underwhelming battery life; no FM radio;
Review: The small size and handy features of the iPod Mini makes it my MP3 player of choice. Even though it has much less storage capacity than the regular iPod, its increased portability makes up the difference. 4GB still means thousands of songs, and the iPod's great playlist makes it easy to make a personalized mix tape, no matter what my mood.

Review: I have had 2 of 3 older ipods break and either repaired under warrany or be too costly to repair. Then I bought 3 mini's only to have 2 of them break. Apple won't repair one of them even though it was under warranty. In addition i-tunes is difficult to use, lots of compatability issues when I tranfered songs from Music Match (windows PC). Into fashion instead of geekby - January 1, 2005
Pros: I hear and see "techies" get a little down on this. True it's a bit expensive, but it does its job and looks great. As a consultant (for an IT company as a matter of fact) I travel a lot and so this is useful on the plane and in airports. As an ex-fash
Cons: It is a bit pricey. better value in other units. But if you understand the value of Prada, then it's not too expensive for you. Watch out, you really don't get 8 hours of battery, more like 6hours.

Pros: Not only does it have more features and is smaller than other players,it's apple, there I said it. You just can't compare an iPod to something else. The mini is smaller, uses a white clickwheel and has an anodised, metal shell.

Small size = Bigger priceby - December 8, 2004
Pros: The small size of the Mini is a definite pro. Even the price is decent, considering that they have to make a 1 inch-by-two inch hard drive... 4 gig is a lot for that size. Those hard drives alone cost about $300. The motherboard is very small, which means

A purchase I'm glad I madeby - July 24, 2004
Pros: Exceptional sound quality, smaller and lighter than anything else in this capacity range, large (for its size) and very easy to read screen, slick and intuitive user interface, integration with ITMS, killer looks and quality materials used: all made this
Cons: One can (and always will) complaint about price, lack of “obvious” this or that feature (mine is a radio) but considering its tremendous success, I would say Apple hit the right compromise better than the competition.

Stop to compare apple to appleby - January 28, 2004
Pros: it is smaller, it is lighter. For ipod users, what's the big deal with GBs? who can have more than 4GBs songs? for those with 4GBS plus songs, how many of them can you enjoy frequently? or 90% of them are songs that will never been heard again? I can say
Cons: don't compare apple to apple, name sth better by a competitor! The ipod has won 75% market of harddrive mp3, and the mini is designed to attach the flash player market, compare those, compare 200USD to 249USD, compare 50songs to 1000songs, compare sound q

Pros: Great user interface, 4GB is enough for most people, iPod's good looks, cool factor, Apple actually spends some time to think and advertise
Cons: High price tag (win-win for Jobs? no, because for the same price as the mini, you can get the 15GB Dell DJ. If more people realized that there were other cheaper players out there, then the Mini would only be bought by Apple fans. Other companies REALLY n

Pros: It is cool, easy scrollwheel, good colors (although more girly in my opinion).
Cons: Small screen, and too expensive! I mean, for only $50 more you can get over 3 times as much memory! It's a rip off, they're going to have to lower the price for it...but if it were cheaper it would be better--but the $99 battery issue is really bad as wel

Cons: Some people are saying 6hrs for battery life, and I do admit that that's not very good. However, for *only* $50 more, you can get an extra battery thing that runs of AAA batts., which lasts 20 hrs..so there..iPod is an A+ product (both of them)

Cons: This new 'pod is definitely not worth the price, for a mere 50$ more, you can buy the 299$ 15gb iPod, which as almost 4x more than the ipod mini...so whats up with that? if apple dropped the price of the mini maybe 50-100, then ill consider buying one
