"Refurbished product still Defective. sound great"
Pros: Great sounding audio table top system. Almost like Bose. You can adjust audio to your liking. The information screen is big and readable. Automatic light sensorit dims when it is dark. Two alarms to set either tone or wake up to CD or FM station.
Cons: Refurbished still defective. Controls not intuitive=hard. FM bandwidth 87.9-107.9 only! Setting alarm time not easy. Over all look of product=ugly. No extra antenna for FM.
Summary: I bought Soundworks radio cd 745i refurbished online in company's website thinking I will get the best deal money and product wise. I was certainly wrong about the product. A few hours of playing music in my radio, product won't turn on anymore. Absolutely disappointed. The few hours of music playing was great. The sound is amazing. Low or High volume, no sound distortion. You can adjust Bass, Treble, Loudness, Mono, Stereo, Wide. Bass is fantastic. Cd play is great. I make my own Cds using CD-r or CD-rw. They work. Plugging in my ipod shuffle in the aux jack in the front was good. It worked well. Alarm settings are good meaning you can adjust the snooze time, volume, etc. OK, thats pretty much the pros. Lets go to the cons. product look is not good. it looks ugly. so many buttons in the front all squeezed in parallel to each other. You certainly can't worked the buttons with your eyes closed. Only 8 preset buttons for FM stations. If they have that much buttons in the front, they could certainly accommodate more presets. The controller is not intuitive either. On and off button in the very bottom and its a credit card controller. They could've invested on a more regular controller with this much price we're paying. Ipod dock is horrible. Ipod works fine with audio but the controller supposedly can control ipod functions as well, but it doesn't do it well. You have to press the buttons a couple of times before the Ipod recognizes it. The FM bandwidth is only 87.9-107.9. I listen to a radio station that's 87.7. How am I suppose to get that station if they only start with 87.9? The FM reception is not as good as reviewers rave about. I still hear a little static in most fm stations. The FM antenna is supposedly in the wire when you plug it in. They include in the box an AM antenna, why not an FM antenna?. The system itself looks kind of cheap. The serial number is not even etched on the plastic, it's just stickered on cheaply.
If you buy Cambridge soundworks products, you pay for the sound period. Nothing else. I am truly disappointed with them. I now have to return the product and will not be reimbursed for shipping the item back to them. Buyer beware when buying any Cambridge soundworks product. It is at your own risk!
