"Horrible programming"

Cons: Least satisfying electronics I've ever owned
Summary: This is an example of a product that does quite a bit, but poorly. First off, my unit can not keep time, which makes it difficult to use as an alarm clock. First, it wouldn't stay set, so I finally got around to adding batteries--something my previous alarm clocks didn't really need unless the power went out. Then it would keep time, but might suddenly be 40 minutes or 5 hours off. I was told it was the automatic setting feature, where it resets based on FM signals. I turned that feature off and it seemed to work for a little while. Then back to normal problems. Then I was told the RDS feature being on was the cause of all my problems. So I turned off the RDS feature--and for several weeks it worked flawlessly. But soon it was up to it's old tricks and seemed to turn the RDS feature on itself. It turns the alarm on and off. It turns the radio on without being touched. It resets itself. On daylight savings time it went off at the wrong hour. Finally I unplugged it and while at that point it quits displaying time, the alarm started going off at 4:20pm. What makes this such an ultimately dissatisfying thing to own is it's inconsistancy. When it works, it's a great product. But then it starts to "act up" and you start to question your sanity. Did I reprogram the alarm? Did I reset the time? Did I turn the RDS feature back on?
