Pros: Excellent sensitivity, excellent selectivity, synchronous detector, very good dynamic range, fine tuning control allows for ECSS

Cons: Mediocre audio from built in speaker, iffy ergonomics, no meaningful signal strength indicator.

Summary: I've been an SWL since tube radio days and this little radio is amazing! Just the fact that it has a synchronous detector is mind-blowing. Aside from audio quality (not an issue when using headphones) this radio equals or surpasses other portables costing hundreds of dollars more.

The radio tunes in coarse 1kHz steps but the fine tuning control allows spot on tuning good enough for ECSS tuning.

All in all, a remarkable piece of engineering for a remarkably low price. Over the years certain receivers have achieved legendary status, this will be one of them.
