Summary Well, after 4 months of having this new fridge, which I loved the look of, the plastic guide rail for a crisper drawer snapped off and broke in two pieces. I was not handling the drawer in a rough manner and have never had anything in a fridge break before, I'm a 44 year old petite lady. The fridge was under warranty at that point. Then, at 15 months of having the fridge, the STEAL freezer handle broke off, again at the PLASTIC attachment made to break the freezer seal before opening. Again it was me that was left with the handle hanging off of one end of the door. So it wasn't under warranty after the initial 12 months and the bill was over 250.00 dollars with service call included. Then, 3 DAYS AFTER THAT REPAIR, I noticed the interior of the refrigerator section felt pretty warm even with the coolest setting 1 Celsius. So I called the repair centre and the same tech, said it was the cooling fan mechanism or VAPORATOR COVER ASSEMBLY technically speaking after I unloaded all my food out of the fridge so he could get the inside back panel open. The cooling fan was broken. Still waiting for the part. Price estimate over 300.00 to fix with initial service call included. Samsung might make some good products, (not sure), but STAY AWAY FROM SAMSUNG APPLIANCES. Moulding spoiled food and milk, and meats. What a mess and high cost of food waste. I am a single mom of 3 kids and I splurged on what was described to me as a really high quality fridge. STAY AWAY FROM SAMSUNG. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NON EXISTENT. I EMAILED THEM PHOTOS AND DESCRIPTION AND GOT NO REPLY.
Pros The refrigerator did get cold
The exterior styling is attractive
Cons French doors do not align
Compressor is extremely loud
Interior arrangement not very convenient
Can hear ice dropping from ice maker all over the house
Summary When I attempted to have Samsung authorize service for the alignment and compressor issues, they stated the issues were within their specifications and that service will not be authorized. I guess they know their quality control is extremely poor. When I elevated the issue to Executive Customer Relations the supervisor stated that she is terminating my entire warranty. The supervisor further stated that she is the final authority and that there is no recourse within Samsung. Only recourse left is to head to court.
