Cons Didn't deliver, extremely slow, service not available in one area where I needed it most
Summary Was looking for a mobile way to check email and signed up for Edge service after buying a Dell laptop with a wireless card. Went for the $80 a month plan after salesperson told me just how quickly one can rack up charges the per-kb way. Right away, service was sketchy (it was like having a laptop-cellphone, basically) and turned out to be much, much slower than my laptop's dial-up connection capability. Cancelled the service after one month and had to pay a hefty ($125 or $175 I think) fee to do so. Still using Cingular for my primary cell phone, but have since switched to using a simple T-Mobile sidekick for mobile email and it works wonderfully.

Summary Awful coverage and customer service, and not just downtown Atlanta.
I finally canceled at the expense of paying a cancellation fee. Reports to their technical support wasn't good for anything, not even a credit.
Unless things have dramtically improved over the past 6 months, I recommend trying someone else. -

Cons Very slow it is about 5 time slower than dial up.
Summary This is an over priced item that has not preformed up to expeditations. Since I bought mine have talked with others and they have the same complaiants. Droped service very slow tech support is lacking. Would not buy if I had checked first.

Cons unstable using phone or using it as a modem. I can faster and more stable connection with a 56k modem.
