"Extremely Disappointing"
Pros: Showed great promise
Cons: Didn't deliver, extremely slow, service not available in one area where I needed it most
Summary: Was looking for a mobile way to check email and signed up for Edge service after buying a Dell laptop with a wireless card. Went for the $80 a month plan after salesperson told me just how quickly one can rack up charges the per-kb way. Right away, service was sketchy (it was like having a laptop-cellphone, basically) and turned out to be much, much slower than my laptop's dial-up connection capability. Cancelled the service after one month and had to pay a hefty ($125 or $175 I think) fee to do so. Still using Cingular for my primary cell phone, but have since switched to using a simple T-Mobile sidekick for mobile email and it works wonderfully.
