Pros Very easy to set up, I just decided before hand what I wanted the remote to do, then very intuitive to set up on the logitech web site.
Great little remote. Many comments on it, when friends come over.
Cons Clicking sound when u choose an option, seems more mechanical than Digital. Gets annoying to me, Also should have a better choice of types of Icons to setup in the remote. Could be more intuitive, with Pictures rather than have to read it.
Summary Yes I would buy it, maybe wait till it got cheaper, ( I paid over $325.00) cannot figure out why this remote is so expensive with the limitations that I have mentioned.
Cons Cheap screen/hardware; terrible customer service
Summary Apparently I pressed the touch screen too hard and it cracked. Think about that: it's a touch screen, and you have to press it softly. That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. So now I can't read anything on my screen. What kind of shoddy material is this made out of? Ever heard of gorilla glass? Your screen is pathetic. To make matter worse my remote was still covered under warranty but they refused to send me a replacement or refund because they said it was my fault. For touching a touch screen too hard??!! Are you kidding me?! I'll never buy another Logitech product ever again. I did get the last laugh though. I know for a fact I prevented 2 of my friends from buying these remotes after they heard my story. I also posted my story on fb and told everyone I know, including posting terrible reviews on every website I could think of. It would've been cheaper for the company to send a replacement than to continuously lose business because of me. Haha.
Pros Color screen is nice with large icons compared to wand style remotes.
Cons Buyer beware! If the touch screen breaks, Logitech will not replace it even if it is a factory defect. Had one for just over 30 days and it is now just an expensive paper weight. Broke in my hand with no abuse. Did not drop it or drop anything on it.
Summary I owned the Harmony just over one month and the screen cracked while I was pressing the number pad button in the lower corner of the display. No abuse and minimal pressure. Had to be a factory defect but Logitech would not replace the unit.
Something to consider when buying universal remotes, and this applies to all touch screen remotes. The large touch screen display is a really bright light that is distracting when you are in a dark viewing room. I did not consider this when I bought the 1100 but knowing this from experience, I will take this into consideration when buying a replacement.
I won a Harmony 700 which has worked well for me in another room, which is why I decided to buy the 1100. Big mistake! Stick with the wand style with hard programmable buttons.
Pros none. never got it to work.
Cons Harmony software doesn't work with latest mac OS. Hour with tech support. Booted in 32 bit mode, Remote in safe mode. Didn't work. Rotten experience.
Summary I had been a big harmony fan. Wore our Harmony One out. After this, they lost me. Trying to find another cool solution. Suggestions? Thanks What a disappointment.
Pros Very cool, great remote between 1-6 months.
Cons Only lasts 6 months.
Summary I purchased the 1st remote, 6 months later the LCD went out.
Logitech support sent be a brand new one (under warranty) today (6 months later) LCD went out again.
If you like spending $300 every 6 months, this is the remote for you!
I liked Logitech, but their products (probably made in China) do not last very long. I have no idea what company makes a good remote...I may try just using an android, iphone, or ipad as my remote.
