"Works great"on by radman61
Pros Buttons easy on the fingers
Controls all of my components
Software setup very easy to use
Cons Some button labels are hard to read in the dark but this could be my aging eyes.
When starting from system off, the TV is not set to the correct input if different from the last input it was on.
Summary Overall, this remote is a vast improvement over my last remote (Harmony 550). The buttons are much easier on my fingers and for the most part everything works great. I believe that it is possible to insert a delay before certain commands are sent to a device. If so, this may solve the incorrect input issue with the TV.
Pros Back lit when you pick it up, Its sylish and fits well in your hand, graet price
Cons Not rechargable and has a limit of 5 devices, will not work with RF or Bluetooth, model numbers to all devices are required and it takes time to look it all up.
Summary Great product, works on all my devices, programming was fun and easy, took about an hour from start to finish.
Pros Web programming makes it easy to program. Reliable. It uses generic replaceable batteries, The 650's take normal alkaline, which last a long time, or can use generic rechargeables. Macro programming is relatively easy.
Cons Programming for the Apple TV takes some thought...or time for trial and error. The web tool does not set the remote up as am apple tv remote easily.
Summary I have two 650's (amongst other remotes) and they both work flawlessly. The five device limit is not a problem for the price, which is quite commonly discounted. Being able to use generic alkaline or rechargeable batteries is a plus, my other remotes that are remote-specific rechargeables are prone to have difficulty recharging.
"In a word, JUNK."on by BSDi386
Pros None that I could honestly find.
Cons It simply doesn't do what you programme it to do. It doesn't learn anything either.
Summary Buy something else and save yourself the frustration.
Pros If it was priced at $29.99 it wouldn't be an awful deal.
Cons Macros only work fitfully; only controls up to 5 devices; web-based software far less functional than than PC based software of earlier Harmony Remotes. Programming to switch between TV and Blu-Ray Activities was too much for this remote.
Summary I bought my sister the 650 and had to return it as it was less functional than the pre-existing Comcast remote. Granted Vizio TVs, Comcast cable boxes and Sony Blu-Ray players are very rare and it's really too much to ask an $80 remote to handle such obscure brands. After this experience, I will NEVER purchase any Logitech product going forward.
The older 510 and 550 models both offered far more functionality for a lower price. I've had my 550 for a few years and aside from one non-functioning button, it still works like a charm. If you can find one reasonably priced, go for it.
