"convenient, but with some flaws"
3.5 starson by mehesPros: don't have to press fifteen buttons to watch TV or play a DVD
Cons: slight delay, button feel, price
Summary: I bought this remote so that I wouldn't have to press through multiple buttons every time I wanted to watch TV, etc. For that, it's great. I press one button and my TV, cable box and my receiver all turn on at once. Same deal for playing a DVD. I thought the web setup was straightforward and easy.
My complaint lies with the delay between when I press a button and when my DVR responds. For most functions, this doesn't matter. But for fastforwarding, it's a real pain, because it always goes 3 seconds past when I actually press the button, so I need to rewind every time to get things right. I know this sounds like it's not a huge deal, but trust me it's annoying.
A more minor complaint lies with the size and feel of the buttons. Big, cushy buttons would be better than these small flat ones.
Overall, I would say that the remote is pretty good, but I'm only ambivalent about having purchased it. It definitely seemed cool when I read the CNET review, but you can buy a lot for $150.

You can program the button response time. I noticed it the most when changing the volume on my reciever. So I went in and changed the response time from 500 to 100 ms and that seems to have helped.

I am curious if the tilt sensor on my remote is defective. Does it only light up when you pick it up from the base or does anyone know if it is supposed to light up when you pick it up from anywhere? I went into the options to enable tilt sensor but it still seems to do nothing. The remote also seems to rattle a bit I'm wondering if that rattling might be a broken sensor. All of the other buttons and features seem to operate correctly.
