Good when it works
Pros: Looks good
Cons: Its not the looks that count
Review: Well I first bought the Logitech Harmony 1000 but only returned it because I felt like for all the money I spent on it Logitech could have included the RF extender. Anyway the 890 pro is a very good remote when it works. Ive had the remote for a month and the tilt sensor has already gone out, also if there is a loss of power to the extender data gets lost and communication between the remote and rf extender is compromised and you have to update both devices for it to work again, also when you turn your devices on with the 890 and your girlfriend or kids come along and start using the original remote to change channels or power off your devices a software "hic-up" occurs and you have to use the help button to get everything back on track, this is not a major issue but it is annoying. Anyway, the remote has a very "slick" feel to it, by that i mean it feels like it's going to slip out of my hand when I pick it up , also Im not happy about the location of the key pad being placed at the base of the remote when i use it im scared the thing is gonna fall right out of my hand, also it does not feel "sturdy", meaning if I were to drop it, it will shatter into pieces. However I do like the Z wave feature and RF features that is also present in the 1000, I like setting different moods for different occasions. Improvements I would like to see: I would like the lcd screen to be touch screen because that is one feature i liked about the 1000, also logitech harmony should sell accessories such as screen protectors and something to make the remote kid proof and to protect your investment.
