Pros Truly consolidates to a single remote control

Cons Organizing LCD "buttons" could be easier

Summary I bought this on a whim with a Best Buy gift card. I fully intended to return it when it didn't work. I still have it.

Getting it set up took a couple of hours to get it just right. It's not the perfect solution, but it's as close as I've seen. Even my technology-challenged wife can use it.

It's nice to eliminate the multiple remotes that inevitably clutter the TV room. It works better than any "universal" remote I've tried. Buttons are fully programmable via web interface and USB.

The only downside I've come across is the LCD buttons are a bit difficult to organize in the order you want them to appear.

I really like the fact that I can choose "Play XBOX 360" and the TV goes to the correct video input and all other necessary equipment is turned on to the correct settings. When I want to watch TV, XBOX gets turned off, cable box on, video input changed, and surround sound settings changed.

For $100, or whatever it costs, it is easily worth the money. Setup isn't difficult, but it does require minimal knowledge of how your gear works. As I said, I did spend a couple of hours getting it set up. I haven't made any changes in the two months since then.

    Pros Customizable

Cons Cheap screen/hardware; terrible customer service

Summary Apparently I pressed the touch screen too hard and it cracked. Think about that: it's a touch screen, and you have to press it softly. That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. So now I can't read anything on my screen. What kind of shoddy material is this made out of? Ever heard of gorilla glass? Your screen is pathetic. To make matter worse my remote was still covered under warranty but they refused to send me a replacement or refund because they said it was my fault. For touching a touch screen too hard??!! Are you kidding me?! I'll never buy another Logitech product ever again. I did get the last laugh though. I know for a fact I prevented 2 of my friends from buying these remotes after they heard my story. I also posted my story on fb and told everyone I know, including posting terrible reviews on every website I could think of. It would've been cheaper for the company to send a replacement than to continuously lose business because of me. Haha.

  • "great idea, poor software, buggy hardware"
    on by user234233

Pros Groups devices into activities, The backlight comes on when you walk into the room, full integration of my xbox and tv controls in my hand.... I LOVE the remote!!! But read below...

Cons The software you use to configure the remote is really awful, really, really REALLY awful.

Summary The software they ship to configure all this is some of the worst crud I have ever used. It forces you to connect to logitech when you launch the software, if you disallow it you CANNOT USE THE SOFTWARE period. Application looks like it was made using javascropt and html, it looks and feels worse that what a student may produce in a C++ class. I mean it is that bad. the remote is a great idea, but MAN! the software is just mind numbing.
They got the hardware right, and the idea is one that will lead us into the "one remote per house" nirvana. but the software needs to be outsources to a company who knows what they are doing. It looks like Logitech hired Mexican day labor to code this application. it is HORRIBLE! and unfortunately it detracts from a rather interesting, shiny, wonderful idea that could work if they changed this one piece.

  • "Good remote for the average User"
    on by r1208

Pros Simple design light weight, ease of use.

Cons Uses batteries up real fast.

Summary Overall this is a good basic remote. great for use with the 360, and windows media center. The buttons are kinda spaced really close together so it could become difficult to use over time. But all and all its a great remote.

  • "Excellent remote control. Easy to setup. Great database electronic devices available through setup."

Pros Works very well. Easy to use. Easy to program.

Cons Smart help menu/learning process but not "truly" aware of device states.
