"Great but becomes unusable in a couple of years due to button design"
Pros: Easy to program - great database of devices
Cons: Activity buttons wear or become dirty and wont work. A little difficult to keep devices in IR field while operating.
Summary: First Logitech and best universal remote i have ever owned........for a couple of years. The middle activity buttons on both left and right of the display steadily became harder to actuate until they are almost unusable now. You have to "scrub" the button hard for several seconds while trying to hold the unit pointing at the devices. This makes the remote pretty useless since i cant or dont know how to bypass usage of these particular buttons. If it wern't for this serious problem, I'd give it a 9 or 10.
I even took it apart and cleaned the contact surfaces with alcohol and a swab. This helped for about 2 weeks but now the problem is worse. Button board design or sensor circuit sensitivity seems to be lacking.
Other minor problems: IR field of view and/or power level a little low. When sitting in a chair i have to hold it level, at or near eye level and point it carefully to operate multiple devices (an activity), making it awkward to push the correct buttons. When operating a single device, i can hold it lower and read the display while operating, but still must be a bit careful to keep it pointed at the device.
Had problems with the software early on but the latest rev seems to be working smoothly.
As with most software, it installs a run time program that sits there and uses CPU time even though you may not need it for months (I disable it until needed).
