More trouble than its worthby mobleypriority - October 31, 2008
Pros: When its working right, its great.
Cons: Too complicated to program yourself. Freezes up periodically.
Review:
This remote has a tremendous amount of capability. Unfortunately with that comes an equal amount of complexity. I bought it for $1000 thinking I would spend whatever it takes to avoid the 5 remote hassle and give my wife one remote she could easily use. Now I have one remote that nobody including me can use.

Pretty, but not the best functionalityby jefflowy - March 16, 2007
Pros: When it works the interface is interesting
Cons: You CANNOT program this yourself, unless you're a geek
Review:
I have had two versions of the Pronto for 5 years. One had to go back to the factory for repairs...not repairable locally. So, it's still in the trunk of my car. A new one is almost $3000 plus a service call from a tech with a laptop and the appropriate software to get your system to do what you want/need it to do. Once it's set it is intuitive and my 12 year old can work it. The GUI is pleasant, and easy. Not having experience other remotes (other than the standard ones that come in the box) I can't compare, but this is definitely not worth the money, unless you have a ton. A high end dealer told me the best step would be a $10K unit that would run my whole house, including lighting, thermostat, etc....which is obviously the remote of the future. But today, this might be it, it might not. I am not a huge fan.
