"LOVED THE PREVIOUS MODEL, HATE THIS ONE" on by rohein

    Pros: NONE! NONE!

    Cons: BAD KEYS, NO BACKLIGHT

Summary: It's the most frustrating waste of money I've ever owned. It's predecessor model lasted me four years; I thought I'd replace it with this one, but where the other was was backlit, making it great for darkened TV, this is not, and where it took the old model four years for the keys to wear out, this one seemed to have worn out keys right out of the box (I bought new, not a return, not refurbished)

Avoid it. If you have to spend fifteen or fifty bucks more to get the other one you're thinking about, do it. You'll just be replacing it in a month anyway.

"A Waste of Money" on by sintaxi

Pros: At least you won't waste _too_ much money.

Cons: Learning feature is a cruel mockery.

Summary: Don't bother buying this item. The learning feature is terrible. I bought it because I have some remotes from brands that aren't in most code bases (such as Niro), so the idea of getting an inexpensive learning remote appealed to me. Unfortunately, this remote simply doesn't learn over 75% of the IR signals. I'm starting to suspect that instead of actually learning any signals, it merely displays an "ERROR" message instead. It's a learning remote that can't learn. To paraphrase Jake LaMotta from Raging Bull, it "defeats its own purpose".

"If you have an RCA box, buy it !!!" on

Pros: Fantastic value for those looking for a replacement to the OEM remote on RCA Sat./Cable boxes and still control everything else. Buttons and functionality are almost identical to OEM Sat. box so no-look operation is a snap. Lots of memory to learn all fun

Cons: Only thing I can find is that level control of 5.1 speakers on my receiver is not easy due to the remote utilizing a 2 button combo to control level and the OEM remote having an individual button for each speakers up and down level control. Of course thos

    "25 bucks... come on!" on

Pros: this remote was very cheap at my local target, and it successfully reduced my remote pile from 5 to 1. it aint perfect, but its good enough.
