"A must if you have a variety of components! Sweet!"
Pros: Versatility, compatibility, ease of programming.
Cons: A bit unwieldly (big & heavy) if you're used to standard slim remotes.
Summary: When I first researched this I was impressed but not nearly as impressed as when I started programming it and using it. I have a pretty mixmatched home theater - A Motorola HDTV cable box, Viewsonic LCD HDTV, Creative Labs Dolby decoder and 7.1 Gigaworx surround sound, Onkyo DVD player and a Delphi MyFi XM receiver. I have successfully programmed all these devices successfully with all the features of each device which was a make or break deal for keeping this remote. The only devices that had a code in the list that came in the box were the Motorola cable box and the Onkyo DVD and the Onkyo one didn't work. Once I programmed it manually, it worked fine. The macro function is sweet as you can set one button to turn on (for example) the Cable box, the TV and set the TV to the correct input which is great for my wife who isn't interested in learning all the great functions of this remote. The backlit screen is a nice feature when watching movies in the dark. The only issue I have with this remote is the sensitivity of the touch screen buttons. It's that they are maybe too sensitive. I have accidentally turned something off a couple of times just picking up the remote and touching the screen. It's an easy issue to overcome because you can lock the screen but that's just one more thing to think about and one more thing to teach other users who aren't as big of a geek as I am. One last point, I got it on ebay brand new in the box for $88 plus $12 shipping from Anderson Wholesale in AZ. Don't pay retail for this thing - $199 at Best Buy and Circuit City or you'll be sorry after you read this.
