Pros

Learning function and macros!

Cons

Must read directions to set up, though if you read them its not hard to set up.

Summary

This remote does everything I need it to at a reasonable price. The learning function works well if the remote doesn't have a button you need.

I love the macro function, I don't know how I lived without it. It used to take a dozen steps o switch the tv input and watch roku or dvds but now iit's just one button!

Not hard to set up bit you must read directions to get it working!

Not all my devices were included on the code list and several of the codes from the list did not work. The search function found the codes quickly though, and this likely wouldn't be a problem for a better brand of tv.
I was not able to get a working code for roku so I had the remote learn each button from my roku remote.
I don't love the design of the remote, I think it would be more user friendly if the buttons were broken up more. I'm sure I'll get used to it but the seven rows of rectangular buttons at the top look unnecessarily complicated, but at the price point with all the features included this is a minor complaint to me.

We purchased 2 of these remotes , one for my wife and one for me. I liked the placement of the buttons better on the Sony RM VL-610 but eventually become familiar enough with this remote. The new button learning procedure is different than the Sony RM VL-610 and took a little while to get accustomed to using, but once we did everything went OK. You need to make sure you have new batteries to make the learning process better, and some people had problems using re-chargeable batteries during the learning process.

As previously posted, even though it claims to work out of the box with Sony products, we had to try a few codes to find the most compatible setup and then added a few buttons to personalize it to our system.
For example: the Sony 400 disc changer worked OK but I could not access the menu where you select a different disc, so I just programmed that one to the input button. Our Sony A/V receiver worked but I could not find the button to jump to specific inputs, so a few seconds I programmed the abcd buttons to go to various hdmi inputs. Easy, once you know how.

Overall, for a $17.xx ( with free 2 day shipping) the Sony RM VLZ620 is a good remote .

I do wish Sony would add the feature the older Sony RM-VL900 remotes had where you could pres a button or two and one remote would learn everything from another Sony RM-VL900. I do really miss that feature but understand that most customers probably only have a need for 1 remote.

I usually don't write these reviews but I think its sad someone gave this a bad review because they were not smart enough to operate it. The codes are posted on sony's website (as well as the manual), just under "DVD/Receiver Combo". 31454, 31558, 31622, 31658, 31758, ... Read full review

I have a BDV-E300 and it works fine. Aslo, "tittle5845" posted on a comcast forum that he finally figured it out (it was the FIRST code i just listed), so I don't know why he didn't take down his embarrassing post (the fact it took someone more than 5 mins to figure that out should be embarrassing).
