  • "Top speed of 54 Mbps with WEP activated"

Pros: Easy set up, nice looking router

    Cons: Poor customer support

Summary: Router software reports max. throughput of 54 Mbps with WEP activated.
Reports 300 Mbps througput of 300 Mbps with no security turned on.
In day 3 of wating for Level 3 tech support which was to be within 48 hrs.
Belkin today refused to pass me to level 3 support, I am supposed to wait for them!
Only one offer of help from tech support so far, told me to defrag my hard drives and my throughput would improve!

This is correct behavior. WEP and TKIP support a maximum speed of 54Mbps. For example, Apple devices have this limitation http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3361 and so do Intel devices http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/4965agn/sb/cs-025643.htm so it's not a Belkin issue.
