Pros Inexpensive Simultaneous Dual-Band N; Has 2 USB ports; Gigabit ethernet
Cons Indicator lights are too simplistic; interface for the router is very plain
Summary I got the N600HD, which is the same as the PlayMax but without most of the software as the Play Max. This was to replace a trusty D-Link DGL-4300 802.11g router that bit the dust after 5 years of use.
The Belkin does what it advertises. I don't use their software - I just use the hardware. So far so good. The dual band 2.4Ghz / 5Ghz works perfectly, and has bumped up the speed on my wife's N capable laptop noticeably. You'll be hard pressed to get Dual-Band 802.11n at this price point anywhere else. You can get 2.4Ghz N, but if you're like me with 7 or 8 wireless devices connected then there's no advantage to N unless you go dual band.
Pros Great overall performance. Both hard-wired and wireless.
Cons Nothing at my level of expertise.
Summary Great router, very fast since the last two firmware updates, very satisfied with overall performance. The only router at this price that had printer router capabilities? The support people are generally friendly and competent. Kudos to Belkin for the great improvements?!
