Summary: within one month of buying a new belkin wireless router I had problems with my wireless connection. Called twice with problems (always have to wait about 15-20 minutes on hold before talking with service rep), and both times I called we reset the router through the belkin gateway. Third time I called, this still didnt seem to be a problem to them. Rather than replacing the router, we reset it through the gateway and went through a process of unplugging modem, resetting router through reset button, unplugging router, re-plugging in modem, replugging in router, and also resetting router on gateway interface. I was eventually going through this process every time I used the internet (almost every day) since my wireless connection was almost always down. Reset button broke after about 2 weeks of this.
Spent another 20 minutes or so on hold making service calls where they just wanted to reset my connection again and instead I demanded a replacement. Had to spend another 20 minutes on hold to be transferred to a level 2 tech to explain all over again. Level 2 tech tells me they will replace it, but they need to have a level 3 tech call me back within 48 hours. No call.
Right now I've been on the line for 28 minutes, almost entirely on hold, the few minutes I did talk to a tech I told him I needed to make this my last phone call and I need to get a replacement now. I'm now on hold to talk to someone on the escalation team. This is absolutely ridiculous.
I would rather have spent an extra $100 on a router than waste hours and hours of my time over the last 3 months on trying to get a wireless connec -
UPDATE: I just got an answering service saying the escalation team is not available and to call back at another time and it hung up on me.
Consider this when going with Belkin.
