Pros It is a lot faster than the E3000... not sure about the previous E4200, since I have never used it.. But definitely faster than the E3000.
Fast and easy to configure
Cons I was expecting the price to be the same or just a little higher than the E4200v1...
Summary Overall, is probably the fastest router in the market and so far has had a good experience with it. I stream a LOT of video in the house and share a LOT of large files, and the kids play a lot of games at the same time.
Pros V1 very good router
Cons V1 better value unless NSA USB storage speed is important.
Summary V2 nearly the same as V1.
The only real performance improvement the V2 provides is about twice the speed of the V1 for sharing a USB drive. 20 MB/s is actually pretty good, especially when you consider that's using an NTFS-formatted drive. If that, plus three-stream N on the 2.4 GHz band, is worth $20 to you, then by all means go for the E4200V2.

Pros It looks nice. Yep. That's it for the pros ...
Well, OK, the tech support is great, but see below.
Cons It gave 10% the speed of my old WRT54G. A direct to router connection 10 MBps, WRT54G wireless 5MBps, E>4200v2 0.39 - 1 MBps. This after an hour rejigging the router setting with tech support!
Summary You may have a different experience, but this was a big loser for me. Thanks, Amazon, for your return policy. For $200 it should work out of the box. This one hardly worked at all, even with a nearly complete change of settings.
Save your money and get something else.
Pros Great speed, works great until it doesnt.....
Cons Tech Support trys to milk you for more money.... seems to be a trend now. When Linksys owned the company it was far better. These only have 1 year of support then they want you to pay 30 plus to get help. Ill never buy Cisco again.
Summary If you only want it for a year and then you plan on getting something else go for it but if you plan on keeping this 150$ router for a few years forget it and go to a company with a longer warenty period for tech support.
Pros It is very easy to set up and it does offer many great features.
Cons Not much good to say. It freezes all the time. I get crazy lag when using wifi. Which I could return it.
Summary Even after updating the firmware many times I am constantly facing a router that freezes up. Completely dead. I have to leave it unplugged for 10+ minutes to even have a shot of it booting up properly. Not getting much in the way of help from service either. Also, I am gamer and I have found that in order to prevent lag that I need to be hard wired to the router. Using Wifi just isn't cutting. I get so much lag that I just have to shut the game down.
