D-Link DIR-615 Wireless N Router

Pros: Seems easy to set up and great connection speeds

Cons: Router works fine up until you attempt to secure it. Then the router drops all connections every twenty minutes or so (Unstable).

Summary: Router worked great until I secured the wireless connection. After setting the encryption, the router would constantly fill up my wireless PC and my wired PC event logs with message indicating the link went down. The router would also loose its connection to the internet during these events. I set the wireless connection to send in the clear and the router worked fine. Tried multiple configurations and three different wireless adapter with the same symptom," Unstable connections after encryption was set". The first thing I did was to upgrade the router?s firmware to latest edition and then updated the drivers on all network cards. I used netstumbler to scan for noise to fine a clear channel. Dlink is sending/RMA'ing me another router. Another interesting fact is that Dlink requires a 100 dollar deposit on RMA's. That is over twice what I paid for this router. I had good luck with Dlink in the past and hopefully the replacement will work fine. If not I won?t bother with RMA?ing the router, it just not worth the hassle. The router will go in the trash and I will go with another brand.
