"Horrible device, which should be recalled."
Pros: easy set-up, tech support understandable, if not a little arrogant.
Cons: tech support specialists sometime impatient. Device resets itself every 10 min, causing disconnect. Useless for online gaming.
Summary: If you still decide to purchase this device: shame on you! Set-up is very easy, even for the begginer. For web surfing, e-mail reading, and basic usage it's fine. But for heavy downloading, and online gaming it's useless, as it keeps resetting itself, and disconnecting internet. D-Link is aware of this problem but won't admit it unless you force the issue or get the right tech. They keep trying to fix it with firmware updates, but personnally, I believe it's a hardware defect, which requires a recall. But that'll never happen. Anyway, trying to get a rma so I can send this garbage back. I'm using Linksys now and I'm completely satisfied. But I've only had 3 days. Got my fingers crossed. Well that's it. Good surfing!

I know this is a really old review but I want to clarify a few things for IT professionals if they happen across this review, whilst looking up customer owned hardware. Contrary to this review the above opinion this is a solid piece of equipment. It's been my experience that D-link routers do have occational difficulties with some brands of router/modem combo boxes specifically actiontech provided by TDS, and some times ATT. This is an issue communicating with the ISP's DNS server and usually results in a reset ranging between every 10 min to 48 hours. Having said that the solution is fairly straight forward and is a security/privacy upgrade (IMHO) that I suggest to most of my customers, which is to change the DNS server from the default ISP provided address to a 3rd party service. I normally use OpenDNS but their are others. In every instance of the above complaint I've run into with a dlink router, this solution has fixed the problem.

This product is very unstable. It will work sometimes for a few hours. then it will start re-setting every few minutes. I have tried everything, but this is just a poor choice for anyone who wants an accessable internet connection.

Its useless for anything more than basic web browsing. Post back with results of RMA if you could, I'd love to get rid of this hunk of junk if possible.
