The Hawking H-WR258 Wireless Access Point plus 4-Port Auto Sensing Switch is the perfect solution for sharing a single broadband Internet service among the computers in your home or office. By combining wired networking with wireless networking, the H-WR258 gives you the freedom to connect however and wherever you want. Using the DHCP server feature, the Wireless Router acts as the only computer /IP recognized to the world wide web and its services. It comes complete with NAT firewall features to protect your Internal network (LAN) from unwanted intruders and attacks. By combining a Firewall Router, with a Wireless Access Point and a 4 Port Switch, the H-WR258 is all you will need to network your computers, share internet service, and go wireless! Along with basic firewall and router features, the Wireless Router also gives you email alerts whenever you have new email. Configurable for 4 email address, the router checks your email accounts at adjustable time intervals. When a new message is detected, an orange light blinks on the appropriate LED indicating that you have new emails awaiting download. No computers or laptops need to be powered on to use this feature. Another great feature is the removable external antenna. For those that feel the need to extend the range of their wireless network, the H-WR258 allows for easy upgrading. By adding one of Hawking's Hi-Gain 24 Series Wireless antennae, the range of your wireless network may be increased by up to 100%.
