"firmware is junk, DHCP server problem."0.5 starson by kjuergen
Pros: low cost, good features. Nice and patient people at customer support
Cons: firmware problems with DHCP. It's a gamble to get into the internet and some devices never will. Customer service only knows the obvious stuff.
Summary: I replaced a stone-age Linksys with the E1500 and on the first attempt none of the PC's (winDOS XP, winDOS7, Linux) and print servers/storage were able to connect to the internet as the DHCP server didn't provide the default gateway. Exchanged the unit and the new one had the same problem. After 2h on the phone with Cisco Service, changing a lot of settings, flashing a new firmware and rebooting a lot of times it still didn't work. Got PC's but not print servers to connect to the internet by manually entering the default gateway.
Gave up and returned it for a Netgear WNDR3400. Plug in, works, enter the passwords and the system is running within 10mins.
Until they have fixed their problems I would highly recommend to avoid Linksys and use Netgear instead.
