Pros: Good throughput even with low signal
tech people accessible
Seems simple and reliable in use, even for nubie like me
Cons: May be overselling usefulness of 5mhtz, in that many devices are blind to same
Tech people always try to sell you goods and services, before , and while, they help you
Summary: I have a netbook, and therefore lack either a cd ordvd drive. Accordingly, I made sure, before purchasing the router, that I can either download software or manually configure computer/router for use. Tech people did walk me through web-interfact to accomplish this, but not before trying to sell me an having a pro come to the house, or having a paid remote installation of router and configureation. In follow-up call re: 5 Mhrz option, and another two sales attempts (e.g., remote configuration and, then a Cisco ad1000 adapter to make use of 5mhz possible with my 2 yearold netbook) I learned that most devices cannot use 5 mhz. So unless you have such devices (x-box/internettv et.?) it may be that dual band routers are overkill. I like to build for the future so I remain happy with my choice. The router is giving me 65Mbps even with a low signal and my internet use is seemless and enjoyable.
