Pros -Simple to set up
-Looks pretty/ergonomical design
Cons -Will randomly drop the connection
-Connection will frequently drop below 50 mbps
-Extremely unreliable when more than one user is connected to it-wireless is virtually unusable.
-Often overheats due to poor placement of wireless antenna
Summary I bought this router when it was on sale- and I now realize I should have just spent the extra money and left this piece of trash on the shelf. Save yourself the tie, effort, and funds, and don't buy this product. Just like looking pretty doesn't excuse someone being a vapid airhead, so too does having a nice design not excuse a product being a useless paperweight.
From reading other reviews, I've also found out that linksys support's general stance on helping customers with their abysmal product amounts to "shut up and go away."
All I know is that I will not be buying one of their products again. I am done with Linksys after this debacle.
Pros Very easy to set up...LELA is a super program that leaves nothing to think about. Was up and running in under 10 minutes from opening the box to typing this review. Range is outstanding...easy setup with Vista!
Cons None at all...I am usually a little paranoid about new things but LinkSys WRT160N and it's ease of setup with LELA took all the worries away...nothing negative about this product folks...you get what you pay for and it's worth it!
Summary Having utilized lots of Starbucks routers and other WiFi services, I find the LinkSys WRT160N to be top of the line for the money you spend. It is more expensive than cheaper brands, but it's all about what YOU want/need to get the job done. All you have to do is follow a simple rule...put the CD in first and FOLLOW the directions! Nothing could be any more less confusing than the animated set-up and on-line documentation. For me, I will stick with LinkSys going forward. Of course, you can always buy this product at a higher market price but WalMart is about $80 under most advertised companies...and believe me, I researched for about 3 weeks before I made my final decision. CNET was a tremendous determining factor because of the video reviews etc.
