"Ok when it works..." on by dc55110
Pros: Decent speeds, when its not dropping the signal.
Cons: Frequent (several times a day) signal drops, often needing to be reset. Poor signal strength when working, very weak signal only a few rooms away. Runs very hot, I had to rig up a cooling system otherwise it was too hot to touch.
Summary: This review is a little late, but in general the mid range Linksys routers are mass market junk.

"None of the problems others are experiencing..." on by Zippy1970
Pros: Very stable, very fast!
Cons: None, really.
Summary: Ok, I admit that one of the first things I did was flash this router with DD-WRT, a third party firmware that replaces the original firmware. Maybe that makes all the difference. But I'm not experiencing *any* of the problems others are reporting. It never crashes, wireless is really fast (I'm able to stream 1080p video with 6ch sound to a media player about 30 feet away) and it doesn't get hot *at all*. All in all I'd say it's the best router I've ever had.

"Has been great for 21/2 years without any problems." on by bull221
Pros: My first router, set it up using the provided software..my laptop and desktop picked it up right away as did my grandsons' XBoxes and Playstations & my Wii. I never turn it off unless my son reminds me to something about some sort of address.
Cons: Nothing.....never a problem. Doesn't get terribly hot as it is well ventilated where it sits.

"UNRELIABLE - GO WITH ANOTHER MODEL/BRAND" on by turbolover925
Pros: GIGABIT PORTS
NCons: UNRELIABLE
Summary: I read that this guy gets real hot, so I got a cheap laptop fan set off of eBay ($4) and used it under this router in hopes of it not getting so hot = lasting longer. At first real fast speeds, good and no hiccups. After about 3 weeks it just got slower and slower, reset it a few times but the problem persistes...thankfully Best Buy gives me a month to test it out cause its going back to them tomorrow.

"Over 1 year slow speed and poor tech support" on by oldtech45
Pros: No external antenna
Cons: Tech support after 1 year - told to use their website or pay for support.
Slow speed on wireless direct output was approx 10mbps on desktop computer, wireless output about 3mbps.Summary: How can you trust a company that won't help you on a simple issue that the product is designed to handle? I liked the product and thought it was great. I called my internet provider because they had some local problems for a couple of days but the problem was not on their end is was with the router. They stated that a lot of issues are found to be on the router side over time though they did not single out a particular company. Dropping from 10mbps to 3 and getting poor support has caused me to not recomment this company anymore. This explains why I had to purchase a range extender earlier this year for an area that was working previously.
