Pros looks cool
Cons Resets constantly every hour, sometimes 3-4 times per hour
Hardlined computers have virtually no internet while wireless is enabled
Summary summary = terrible router
Pros I live in 3,000 sq ft. house and take it to every room with no problem or decrease in speed.
Cons None yet, maybe the software.
Summary Extremely pleased with purchase. I would encourage anyone looking for speed and space to try this router. I purcdhased this router after the new line of Cisco routers came out and paid $135.00 at Dell and could not be any happier.
Pros Ok range, small foot print
Cons Unit will stay connected for only limited amounts of time. Range is only OK...there are better out there. Tech support is expensive after the 1st year. Does not work well with smart-phones.
Summary Unit works for some days and then resets itself dropping the internet connection. Hard reset does not correct the issue (if you can remember how to reconfig). We have tried connecting direct to the DSL modem and the connection never fails till you turn it off. So the provider is not to blame for this one. Latest firmware update did nothing to improve the connection problem or the range. Difficult to config with DSL modem without the assist of Tech-support. We had a SMC for several years till the power supply on it went bad that worked perfectly.
Pros Wireless N support
Dual Band for N connection and B/G connection simultaneously
Cons Extremely unstable on the N band, does not matter what is going on but the router drops my laptop and every other computer running on wifi about once an hour and will only reconnect after pulling the power on the router and plugging it back in
Summary The bottom line is this would be a good router if it weren't so unreliable. Consistent dropping of connection is very hard when someone relies on a constant connection for streaming content. The service interruptions caused by this can potentially cost me money so I'm trashing this router and investing in something a lot more reliable.
Pros Great set of features. Fast when it was working.
Cons N-Band unreliable, often requires reboot to get it working again (this happened since Day 1)
Stops routing FTP until rebooted (this happened since Day 1)
Web interface became sluggish and unusable (recently)
Stopped working even after hard reset.
Summary This product was slightly flawed from the start (loss of N Band and needing to reboot to get services running).
What finally pu tthis thing to an early death is the fact that it just stopped routing traffic to my service provider. Went back to my old router the same day, no problems.
The web interface has also become SLOW, just getting to the reboot screen easily took 2 minutes (if at all).
