Pros I used this to replace my ISP-provided DSL modem. It configured easily and has good throughput. Is able to work natively with OpenDNS for family filtering.
Cons Does not have as many admin features as some other models. incoming/outgoing IP logs are missing, as well as MAC scheduling.
Summary Pretty good features and performance for the price. Not for those who want extreme manageability in their own home...
Pros The packing Box.
Cons Takes helll of a time to setup. The Wizard CD supplied does not work. Waste of time. Range is absolutely poor. Online support is very poor. Cannot work as a independent router with external modem. Tough time setting up Modem.
Summary I bought one of these NETGEAR DGN 1000 modem + router, and it took one helll lot of a time to setup. The Wizard CD supplied does not work as it cannot detect the router, and eventually, instructs you to configure the router manually. Lot of waste of time. Range is absolutely poor. You cannot get signal beyond 20 feet. Tried every trick in the book but could not go beyond 2 signals at 20 feet. Online support is least supportive and unhelpful. Cannot work as a independent router with external modem. Had a tough time setting up Modem. Overall a lousy piece of junk. Waste of money. Had to dump it. Finally bought a ASUS N-11. Piece of cake to work with. Excellent range. works in the complete 1 acre house. Elaborate explaination to configure and the wizard CD is faboulous.
