Pros: I can't think of one reason to buy Netgear when other brands are out there.
Cons: I have 3 Netgear wireless routers. Why does Best Buy offer Netgear and hardly anything else?
Summary: When I increased my security setting, I received a pop-up from Netgear asking if I wanted to upgrade my firmware. Sure, why not? My Netgear unit crashed. I called customer support, who took all my personal info and then after quite a long conversation told me that I would have to pay $99 to talk to a tech person. This is unacceptable on all levels, wasting 20 minutes of my time when 5 minutes of tech support might have fixed the problem, and charging more than the unit cost new. I threw the Netgear away and bought a new Linksys.
