  • "Excellent product, easy setup"
    on

Summary This has to be the simplest setup I've ever done. The speed of the device is excellent. Setting up the a secure wireless environment was a breeze.

  • "I'm sure it would work great it it did anything"
    on

Summary No Internet and no File/Print sharing. Tech support (after waiting for 1/2 hour), when I could understand him finally just said they do not support a firmware version for AOL. Great what about File sharing? He just hung up on me. Great support.

  • "Noticed increased range right out of the box."
    on

Summary This unit is replacing my current set up consisting of a Linksys Cable/Dsl router and a D-Link DWL1000 AP. Set up was extremely easy. Much easier than the D-Link and about on par with the Linksys router. I work as a network support engineer and I found the setup a snap, but with the excellent tips and explanations on the user-friendly web interface I feel a novice would have no trouble either. I noticed increased range with my 11b card. But when I used my new WG511 (11g) card, the range was so good I convinced my next door neighbor to share my DSL costs by sharing our network. After he tried my 11g card, he's ordering one right now. I also like the built-in firewall. For those that claim NAT to be a firewall, puhleaze! While NAT does offer some protection from Internet attacks, it cannot offer the level of protection of a proper firewall. The unit can even can tell you who's logged in and can log packets through the firewall. Very helpful for tracking down those pesky tracking adware. All in all an excellent product for the same or less money than competing products.

  • "GRRRRRRRRRRRRRREAT!!"
    on

Summary yeah, so i'm inky's brother, and i have to agree, this router is incredible...i was nervous cuz his chick has a wireless linksys setup at her place and i couldn't get a signal on my powerbook G4 further than ten feet from it...with the netgear, i get full signal on the second floor on the opposite side of our house...truly incredible...

  • "WARNING!! DOESN'T WORK WITH DELL TRUEMOBILE 1300!!!"
    on

Summary Obviously a fantastic router in all categories. Only one major problem. It doesn't work with the very popular DELL TRUEMOBILE 1300 miniPCI wireless card. It only works in b-mode. If you put it into g-mode the router and wireless card cannot communicate. Very disappointed to find this out after order this router on e-bay. Hopefully NetGear and Dell will wise up and put out firmware updates to solve this problem. NetGear is going to be losing out on a LOT OF BUSINESS if they don't fix this problem because the Dell wireless cards are very popular. And Dell will be losing out because NetGear makes the best routers/wireless access points.
