Pros: Great range and connection speed, Easy WPS 'push-button' wireless connectivity for compatible adapters, switches allow you to turn off wireless or entire router without logging into the web interface

Cons: Only basic parental controls partnered through OpenDNS, not really made for a novice, traffic meter doesn't work for all types of WAN connections, offshore tech support

Summary: I have been trying to find a decent 'N' router since the Dynex WEGRTR flaked out on me. I tried the Belkin F7D2301 'Surf', but it was too new and buggy. So, I decided to go with this Netgear WNR2000. I'm glad I did. We have a smaller house, but this Netgear has great range. I can go into my neighbor's yard with the laptop and still have a full 5-bar signal. Actually I think that's too good, but I'll take that over having not enough range. I especially like the physical on/off and wireless switches. When I want to kick the kids off their laptops or iPods, I can simply hit the wireless switch without interrupting the rest of the wired connections.

The included CD is helpful for novices, but I prefer accessing the web interface and using the advanced settings. The CD also includes a program called 'Netgear Genie' which helps determine the cause when you're having trouble with your connection.

The parental controls are really basic, and use OpenDNS. They are not contained on the router itself. Also, there is a feature called 'Traffic Meter' which is supposed to tell you how much bandwidth you've used with your ISP. However, I could not enable it. When I called basic tech support, they said to take it back and exchange it. When I checked their user forum, it said that the feature only works for PPPOE (usually DSL) connections. You'd think tech support would know that.

I'm hopeful that I've finally found a router that will give years of great service.
