"Best router I've ever owned"4.5 starson by aturfer
Pros: Very easy to set up.
Fast 'consistent' throughput.
Simultaneous 802.11g and 802.11n.
Cons: Have only owned it for a few hours, so cannot say.
Summary: I ordered one of these units yesterday to replace an aging Netgear WNR2000 and a faulty Belkin Play N600 (which kept crashing, dropping the 5GHz signal, performing slowly etc). I was going to go with the Cisco E4200v2, but they're not available in this country yet (and I'm impatient).
My Netgear N900 (WNDR4500) was delivered today, I took it home during my lunch break and had it up and running within 5 minutes - including port forwarding rules, address reservations, and new admin and wifi passwords.
Upon switching it on, a notification appeared at the top of the admin page explaining that there was an update available. I installed this update, then ran the obligatory speedtest.net.
It was incredible to see the difference - the N900 (WNDR4500) was not only blisteringly fast (even over wifi), the throughput was also "solid". On my previous routers, running speedtest.net would show the graph spiking, then falling, and generally jumping up and down in an erratic manner. With the N900, the graph remained solid and flat (no stuttering).
I can't say anything about the range because my apartment is tiny. I also can't comment on reliability as I've only had it for a few hours. First impressions are definitely positive.
